DAY FOUR--HIGHLANDS, NC

IF you tried to read day three and couldn't find it, neither could I. It went into cyberspace. We blew across Ark. Miss., Tenn. and Alabama. We didn't have much luck finding Benjamin and Reese Porter, but today we hit pay dirt. We found the grave of Mary Bowen, (photo below) who was married to the second generation William Porter. (We think.) Richard bought a brush, baking soda and a bottle of water for us to clean the tombstones. We took several photos and I'll try to post. We went to Lynchburg, toured the museum at Jack Daniel's distillery (photo below), bought some of his best products and are enjoying them tonight in the room with the boys. The caretaker at the Porter homestead gave us a case of SunDrop, which must be the state drink of Tenn. It's pretty good with the JD. Tomorrow we are going to King's Mountain and on to Greenville, SC.
